400 kV of pure energyby DarkpixelComment: Hmm... I find myself more interested in the haybales in the background.
Frankly, it strikes me as a simple snapshot, processing isn't bad, it isn't great, but not bad... The composition is OK(holy unlevel horizon Batman!), might have been able to do a bit better, but it works. My issue is that this doesn't really say technology, nor does it tell me you planned this out and made the best effort you could... I'll predict a lower mid pack finish. |

Old Timerby FtWorthphotogComment: I don't like the cross-processing look. I don't like the composition. I don't like the image.
But I really do like the concept. I think the contrast between the old well windmill and the new power-generating windmills is great. Wish the execution had been better, but I think the concept is very nice and carries a good story. |

Eve of Destructionby Dr.ConfuserComment: Cool image, but why did you choose to crop it this way? And why can't I see the entire front end loader - the bucket is the best bit of that one!
I think a bit more of the water in the pit and a bit more of the arm of the excavator would have been nice.
Processing is fine here, but I think it could have been pushed a bit further, but no more sharpening, you pretty much just nailed that. |

Still Readingby MinsoPhotoComment: Ahh... Steven King. How wonderfully dark.. I don't LOVE the books you've chosen, but I don't hate them either.. Neat shot and good illustration of the contrast between the early technology of the printing press vs the modern e-book. |

Data Lossby giantmikeComment: water drops are awesome looking. But... This isn't water drops. So.. What do I see... Honestly? I'm left wondering if you wanted to try the water drop thing and just failed at it? Sorry to say, but the concept could have been expressed in so many ways, why this mess of partially evaporated water.
But then wait! I look at this more and notice that the "water" seems to be alcohol that is burning.. Ok.. Kinda cool... And I like the orange coloration of the image too... But.. Yeah, sorry, but... I still just don't love the image! My sincerest apologies. But it does make me want to see this done with droplets of burning liquid - just have to be darn short between lighting and shooting. |

Relicsby banmornComment: I find that shooting stuff like this is hard with anything but new units or really really worn units, as something like these that have been used a little, but not much, gives the contacts unattractive wear and marks. A bit of cloning could have helped. I also think a closer crop rotated to level would have been nicer.. Actually I'd like to have just seen a macro of the gold contacts, the pattern on those is great! Love the contrast of straight lines and curves. |

Voltby jnenvirComment: Not a bad image, but I'm afraid that the dings/scratches/etc kinda spoil the whole "high technology" feel of this one. The other issue as I see it is the way the door overhangs the wheelwell, it would be nice if it had extended down into the black void more, or if it had stayed entirely within the bounds of the body. Either could have helped this image I think.
In any case, still a nice example of technology, and a reasonably well done and processed image. Message edited by author 2012-07-23 00:15:23. |

Road Killby davidwComment: not bad. I think that more could have been done, but the overall image comes off clean and visually appealing. |

iTypeby DistantColoursComment: strange. iLike it, no matter how you iDid it. ;)
Really though, good concept, mix of elements/generations of technology, and execution/processing. I hope to see this near the top. |

Chained Technologyby dmsmithComment: I like this one... I think the processing is a little weak and that this image actually had much more to give, but despite that the representation of technology here is valid and present, as this shows several VERY important advances in technology. |
