I like the title and with the benefit of hindsight of if having read the "article" tying in with the shot, could work as an NG image. It seems a bit colourless though and the 4 backs to the camera are not engaging enough. It is certainly a departure from wildlife, science and nature. Photojournalism. Candid. Human interest story? I'm not swayed it would be published.

Good timing to get the mother engaging you, and wary of your human presence. NG photos I believe have some "engaging" quality, a style, a moment. Selection criterion for publication is very high and they must tell a story. The foal's left ear is also directed toward you, wary. The overall green tinge is a but much, I can't say if sat was pushed or not but it does feel that way. It could be published in NG.

Global Warming?

Good composition, soft focus, bokeh excellent, good title. The lone derelict telephone pole adds weight to a Global Impact/Warming storyline. 50/50 that NG would publish it on it's own merit however, sorry!

The Beetles

It's a good macro, beetles are well focused and composed etc but the lime green pushing of the leaf and BG is OTT and thus draws attention away from the bugs. I'd have masked the leaf, BG and not overdone the saturation there, just the bugs
