Showerby alexlkyComment: Welcome Alex, albeit in a different time and week zone :)
I on the other hand am not excited by it. I think it has it's place and NG used it a lot (for them) in the 70's and early '80s. Flickr is full of creative ways to use it, as Matt says in certain shots. Me I prefer flat horizons on seascapes though sorry! The Rock Scissor Paper challenge you used it well with little distortion showing except in a palm which could be that bowed anyway. |

Week_8by sempermarineComment: That's what he looks like when the bat is flung at him :) (and makes contact without a cup)
The lighting is brilliant, as not one black shadow stripe from all the metal guards, is visible on his face.

Wasn't me, honest :P I liked the shot (7) and it's definitely grainy but that's a Don editing technique :)
Some like the donut BG (circle of confusion), others mostly don't so I try avoid it. The masking, Gaussian Blur is one way to subdue it because you have to shoot high ISO to get decent s/s but I use masking/de-noise more as I try avoid the specular highlights at time of shot. Here's two examples:

Hitching a rideby thilomComment: Great interaction. Looks like they are bickering over the rump. A bit hot in places on the birds and the grass stalk over Z's nose distracting. Still, an 8 as I understand the difficulties and nuances of true wild photography. |
