African Bush Grasshopper (PAW 6/52)by HarveyGComment: Originally posted by ursula: ...I think I wish the eyes were sharper - your focus seems to be on the legs, in front of the eyes, and the eyes look slightly out of focus. It does look like it, however the RAW is fabulously sharp so maybe my editing, conversion skills suck! :) |

good-byeby patchesComment: This is the only time I've seen where a flying away BiF has worked. Fabulous moment caught. A bit noisy and some haloing. I'd also like to see the dead space ahead (that is above) the bird for space for it to fly into rather than below it. Still a 7, more if the noise was reduced and the halo controlled. |

Just have a sniff, right boss? (4/52)by KroburgComment: Cute Yorkie? Intent moment captured, ears up, tail curled, stiff body. I prefer low subject height POV's with pets. It involves me more in their perspective and world. Any reason why you shot on the shade side of him? Despite this you got good detail even in the ridge highlights. |

MJO_1938by MattOComment: Nice engaging look and perfect timing with "blow" and flying glitter. Great light setup. Perhaps it's me but I prefer off centre subjects. Well done on avoiding flash reflections on her glasses and the clarity you achieved. |

Walkiesby AbraComment: Pretty much ditto to all the other comments, notably peoples backs are not usually interesting but the road angle adding to the overall composition over rides this. The term for the "halo" in the hair due to back lighting is Rim-light. |

_MG_9262by ScooterMcNuttyComment: I always enjoy your SP's and find the disinterested look you sometimes have as intriguing, perhaps amusing. The below chin shadow has dislocated your head. Good WB and Colour. |

The-Night-Visitorsby jomariComment: One of the most satisfying moments of wildlife photography is getting the shot despite many challenges. In so doing you have to at least be adept in using your camera under pressure. You could go to the zoo and spend hours till you get a NatGeo like image and palm it off in a challenge and even then it will be picked to death or voted down because of some flaw that could really only be corrected or anticipated in a studio environment.
You nailed it and in the dark with a relatively short zoom. Even if it was on auto and you used the popup flash. They are looking at you and their environment and their ring tails are clearly in the picture, the composition is also good considering the short time you had and remember they were in the dark when you aimed the camera. This image and moment will long live in your memory and will not fade like a zoo shot. Well done. |

The Callingby Silent-ShooterComment: Wonderful Dragon's Berg image. Super sun spotlight and rays. Almost biblical. Listen to Creeds "Higher" whilst examining this shot. Stephen? 800px doesn't do this justice. |
