I would have removed the left glass from the composition, I see only the edge but IMO it would be better w/o it. Just personal stuff, but I would place the flowers a little bit more to the right and the salt-holder little bit more to the left, so the glass would cover no more than the half of each. Just an idea. |
| 02/04/2006 05:35:22 PM | Late Romanceby toekneestuckComment: Nice one, looks like dried grounds. Composition and colours touched me, lighting is good, too. I think I woul dtry a bit of sharpening here, sometimes resizing causes the loose of a few details. The only thing that I can't take here is the border. It's awful and kills the soft subject. A one-pixel grey and approx. 10 pixels black would fit better IMO. |
| 02/04/2006 05:30:39 PM | Romanceby SteveinnzComment: Good idea to fill the frame. Though, I would have chosen a lower angle to avoid centeration of the rose and get a more interesting viewpoint. I am not sure about the focusing and also seems overexposed - you loose colour on a few petals. Try to get as sharp results as possible, later you can post-process it to have a milder look. Using more diffused lights would result in better exposure than a harsh lighting. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Personally I would have placed te background a little bit further from the kids, but alltogether a great shot whith full of emotions, and sepia tones make it soft, which works well with the mood of this photo. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 10:46:51 AM | Acquiescenceby shekkiComment: Quite out of focus, and I can't see the concept of the composition. Blue, it's true, but try to implement your subject in a way that raises the viewers' interest for your subject. It's not only blue what's important for this challenge, but the subject you choose to show blue, and the implementation, the hows of making your shot. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 10:44:33 AM | Sonata in G Minorby GordonComment: Sorry, this is rather purple than blue, and it's quite out of focus. Also the aberration on the edge of the petals is distracting. Yellow adds a nice colour element, though. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

It ruins the quality, and it's rather purple than blue. It would be better to find a blue can, and avoid such agressive (and destructive) post-process. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 10:44:25 AM | the great blueby the great ubaldoComment: A blue ball snapshot with flash... There are stripes on this ball, try to play around with them! It could be a main character of the composition. And the photo needs more light, and more diffused light IMO. Compact camera flashes are hardly good enough for lighting. |
| 02/03/2006 10:42:44 AM | peace. (inspired by Andy Warhol)by fooflubComment: Quite out of focus, and overlighted. Try to find focus, that's very important and diffuse lights. The subject could be placed further from the background, this way you could blow out whites without getting strong shadows. Sorry, the quality is quite poor here, but don't give up, the more you try, the better result you will have. |
