It's just a ceiling fan? Of course it is, which is why you did so well. It's immediately recognizable, yet it's beautiful and mysterious, subtle and artistic yet technically excellent. All that said, I only gave you a nine. Try to do better, please. Congrats on your top 10!

I have to say I much prefer this image over the other one, but I'm a sucker for symmetry and simplicity, and a staged throwing of the hat like that would have knocked this down from a 10 to probably a 7, no lie. Other people of course prefer people in the shots so there's be a bit more emotion, but to me it's staged and you made the right choice.

Congrats on the ribbon. Was one of the four 10s I dished out in a challenge full of excellent images.
