Dreamyby rsaulyteComment: A lovely delicate image with great bokeh.
Based on the rendering of the white of the flowers, I'm finding it hard to detect much of an improper color balance here. Maybe just a little, but I was looking for something more obvious for this challenge topic. |

In the blue by SistoComment: I'm liking the blue shots best so far in this challenge and this is another lovely example. An interesting composition, with the railings providing a great focus point/ anchor for the image. |

Golden sunsetby tylorrcComment: The issue here seems to be more one of improper exposure than of improper white balance. I like the glowing outline on the two men in the evening light. |

Macroglossum Pelargonium Hortorumby LoViComment: Hi Viv,
I'll comment on the moth that's attracted to the flowers. Good catch!
I was "introduced" to this interesting creature when one visited our Buddliea blooms last year. They have a really unusual movement. I had no idea what I was seeing at first.

88 Fahrenheit by mariucaComment: A real "I feel like I'm there" capture. Congratulations!
I like the grain and I'm curious as to whether you added some in PP or whether it's all due to "atmospheric conditions !!"
I hope you enjoyed a good meal as well as a good capture. Message edited by author 2017-07-10 16:42:04. |

Arson and the Elements by jomariComment: Very nice. Meant to comment much earlier. I've loved many of the abstracts you've found over the years at your son's wrecking yard. Thanks.

Korean Dogwood by JakeKurdsjukComment: As I commented during voting I thought this was a lovely image. I gave it my highest vote.
Jomari's comment "It's interesting that the leaves have the fine red border, just like the flowers" led me to share a botanical "tidbit" ... from a botanical perspective, the lovely, white, pink tinged, petal-like things that dominate the image are not flowers at all. Nor are they leaves. They are bracts. Only the small clusters in the center are flowers.
I'm curious whether you knew this, as you seem pretty knowledgeable about birds and plants etc., and decided to go ahead an submit it anyway. :-)
I planted some Korean dogwoods, which are much more disease resistant than the white dogwood, in the yard of my first home on the Cape. Seeing this reminds me to look into adding one in our yard here, especially since we have a fair amount of shade.
Congratulations on the ribbon. |
