Inner tranquilityby flaviamarianiComment: Lovely color palette, and clever idea to get the warm glow from the burning incense. It's unfortunate that you cropped (or took) the image with the left knee right at the edge, actually touching the border. This creates a tension that is at odds with tranquil feeling I think you hoped to achieve. |

Washing overby TimComment: An interesting choice. I am curious what the rather bright green stuff is, because it seems too bright to be seaweed? To my eyes too much of the image is occupied by rather uninteresting gray-white smoothed waves. These do not engender any particular feeling, including those I would associate with zen. |

Portal to Peaceby sfaliceComment: A lovely spot, and great back lighting. I like the choice of B&W. But overall I find the image too busy for what I associate with "zen". |

The Party's Overby aberrationComment: I like this. It's an unusual approach to the challenge. Much welcomed after so much repetition of certain themes! Gave it a 9 earlier. Back to comment. |

Patienceby paynekjComment: Interesting muted palette and textures on the rocks. Unfortunately this composition does not work for me, independent of the challenge topic. In addition the angularity of the smaller rock that is balanced on top of the larger rock seems distinctly un-zen. |

Golden 157by MelethiaComment: Deb, this is just gorgeous. The beginning sign of spring here is the first few cheery trees in blossom. |

Still Life with Balloonsby sfaliceComment: Hmmm, an interesting composition. I don't know what your lighting setup was, but to my eyes this looks very flat. |

Rainbow'loonsby KarenNfldComment: Very creative. I just love this idea, especially the use of different sized balloons in addition to different colors. I recognize that the flatness of the balloons themselves is the result of the luminous back lighting, but the result doesn't feel quite right. I suspect this resulted from ramping up the saturation and thus blocking out any delicate tonal gradations that existed. |
