The Masque of the Red Deathby offiofComment: Very striking. I love the line formed by the trim on the fabric "cloak" or possibly it's a blanket (?), and also the vignette. |

The Black Catby HipychikComment: Very clever. I like this a lot. It took a second longer that most images require to grasp, but I like that about it. I'm a bit confused about whether that is an ax stuck in the tree or a chain, or ? |

Spirits of the Deadby amnonComment: I find this over sharpened, especially affecting the leaves and the grass/gravel in the foreground. The best part is the light on the headstones. |

Here's looking at you kid by BrennanOBComment: Congratulations on the blue ribbon, Brennan. Wonderful carving and shot! Didn't vote on this challenge but this one truly stood out when I glanced through them |

Mandarin Drakeby SteveJComment: Lovely shot, great colors and processing. I remember visiting the Slimbridge Wildlife Centre when I living in Bristol, way back in the mid 1960's. |

Caution Wet Floorby maclenComment: Love this. Great shapes, composition, and textures, and wonderful use of that ubiquitous warning sign to provide a splash of color. Abstract, but in a very concrete way! |

Franklin Deluxe Rotary - Circa 1938by KelliComment: Gorgeous. Great DOF and processing and wonderfully embodying the relationship between form and function. These old sewing machines are wonderfully sturdy aren't they. I recently had a chance to use Bear_music's grandmother's machine while staying at his sister's house, and that was a treat. I was actually glad that running out of time to complete my sewing task before the trip led to that opportunity. I especially love the detail of the bits of lint, highlighted so well in this back/side lighting. |
