Still Beautiful...by annelizabethComment: nice concept for this challenge. good focus, but some of the highlights from the lightsource to the right bother me. -- gr8photos (5) |

Centenarianby autoolComment: very nice. nice that you picked just the handle and part of the blade. the black background is fantastic, and the sharpness of the shot really good, too. i would love to see the teeth of the saw at the bottom, even though that would mean more of the blade and (in proportion) less of the handle. -- gr8photos (8) |

Door Knobsby BambooChicaComment: the angle makes me dizzy for some reason. nice catch the two doorknobs like that with the peeling paint. good focus, too. i wish the rusty doorknob was somehow more the focus of the photo than the new one ... but still a good photo. -- gr8photos (6) |

'32 Fordby SwashbucklerComment: old and overgrown. the idea is nice, but in my opinion, there are too many leaves distracting from the actual subject here. maybe a closeup of the top? did you try and play with the colors at all to see if you can bring out the red of the rust some more? -- gr8photos (4) |

Nobody homeby normwComment: nope, and nobody has been home in a while i think. nice find. what color was the car? would this have looked good in color, or maybe some color? i would like to see a little more contrast here. also, the title doesn't match the photo, the photo is really about the car, the title about the house in the background. -- gr8photos (5) |

Abandoned Stairwell?by ManicComment: i must be missing something here - what should make me think that it's abandoned? all stairs are still there. interesting perspective, colors are a little muted, especially when contrasted with the red handrail which draws a lot of my attention). overall not the most fascinating subject matter to me, sorry. -- gr8photos (4) |

Oldie but a Goodieby yoshi718Comment: i guess stamps were cheaper back then ... nice idea. i'm not sure what the background is exactly and therefore not sure why you picked it. is the stamp really that yellow or is that the lighting? nice placement of the stamp in the photo. -- gr8photos (6) |

Look At Me Againby quarxComment: ok, so i've looked again. i think i still don't get it. it's a hanging down branch or some kind of oat/wheat, etc. it's brown, so potentially old. hm. the background is a little busy for my liking but i understand that you can't always control that. i like that it's nicely out of focus. -- gr8photos (4) |

Finished by rcrawfordComment: the color scheme works well, so does the angle, but the background, specifically behind the wheels to the right in the photo seems a little cluttered, especially because the tones of the wheel and the items in the background are pretty similar. i know you can't always control these factors (unless you could've shot this from the other side w/out clutter, but obviously i have no idea what that looks like) -- gr8photos (5) |

Baglama's True Dreamby conqComment: nice angle, but to be honest, this photo doesn't specifically speak 'old' to me. maybe if the woodgrain was more visible. technically, your focus (if you decide to use a shallow depth of field) should be further in the foreground, probably where the wood piece is that pushes the strings up (not sure what the real name for that is). you should also try and use different lighting so that you don't have that big white hotspot in the foreground. maybe indirect lighting? -- gr8photos (2) |
