very cool idea. i like the red of the apple against the green background, and how you can see where the arrow tip exited the apple. the shadow is great, too. the only suggestion i'd have for a possible change is to have a single-colored background (i have a thing for them, i have to admit), rather than half green, half black. -- gr8photos (7)

yep, definitely. i have plenty of that in my freezer, too. the photo itself is a little cluttered in the background, maybe if you had zoomed in more on the board with the vegetables and the bag to eliminate some of the other 'stuff' would've been nicer in my opinion. -- gr8photos.

this looks way too dark on my monitor. i can make it out, but i have to try hard. i just tried to lighten it in an editing program and like the shot better that way. i wonder whether you did this on purpose or its one of those 'different calibration' issues. -- gr8photos.

it is a little lonely, isn't it, especially with the dried plants around it. i think you have a really good idea here, i was in minnesota last week and just didn't get the time to take a photo of corn in a field, but i thought about it. you have a nice fence in the background, and i wonder what your photo would look like if you zoomed in and focused on the corn itself and that way eliminated some of the background that doesn't need to be there. just a thought. -- gr8photos.

good idea here, but on my monitor this looks out of focus all the way through. i'm wondering whether that's deliberate for some reason that i don't get (i'd like to see something in focus, my eyes keep searching around), or whether maybe you got too close for your camera to be able to focus ... happens to me a lot with mine, because it indicates that it has focused even if it hasn't. -- gr8photos

great idea, especially with the reflection being the focal point of your photo, unfortunately, everything seems out of focus, there's nothing my eyes can rest on. -- gr8photos.

very nice idea, would've looked good in color, too, i'm sure. i like the composition, but your lighting is a little uneven, too dark around the stalk and highlights in various places. natural light (but not direct) usually works best for me. or some tissue in front of your light source to diffuse the light a bit. -- gr8photos (5)

nice idea and tied in well with the caption. i love the angle, and your DOF. not totally sure about the diagonal lines in the wood, would it have been possible to take the shot with the lines running towards the apple? nice black background. -- gr8photos (9).

you've got some funky lighting going on here, or you've played with the contrast too much. i think a more plain background would have worked better for me, and either cropping off more than just the end of the banana or having everything in the frame. this way, it looks accidental to me. -- gr8photos.

i like the touch of leaving the net partially on, and showing both oranges only partially, however, i'm not quite sold on your focal point. i think it should be more on the left orange since it's closer to the viewer and the net, rather than the right orange. -- gr8photos.
