Say...Cheese!by GeneralEComment: hehehe, if he says cheese all the cheese is going to fall out of his mouth! ;) good idea for the challenge. great focus on the photo, and i like the way it is framed (that includes the frame, too). i really have nothing to add that i would've done differently. :) |

Heavenlyby TurbotechComment: have you ever tried vanilla soymilk mixed with orange juice? sounds gross but is actually really yummy. anyhow. your photo definitely meets the challenge. i like the beam on the soymilk bottle, definitely focuses your attention, even though the beam is just a little more overexposed than i would like. overall, i think you did well achieving that heavenly feeling, great color for the background, and good arrangements of objects in your shot. i wish the background did have a few less creases (noticeable on the right). overall, a good submission :) |

Drink Milk?by rj324Comment: well, the girl on the left certainly won't drink milk if she doesn't have to! ;) this is a very well taken photograph of the two girls. even lighting, sharp, nice catchlights in the eyes. and it meets the challenge. the material of the background is a little busy for my liking, but this is still a good shot. :) |

River Lagan: Frozenby gerardComment: hehe, i think you'd get a kick out of seeing me a sec ago. i kept moving my head in front of the monitor, trying to peer into the shadows on the left. i think they are just a bit too dark for my liking. i do like the rest of the shot, and it definitely meets the challenge. i like how the river curves through the photo and that, despite it being winter, there's still some green in the shot. although i have to admit that i maybe wouldn't have noticed that the river is frozen if it wasn't in your title. lastly, does the image need a tiny bit of rotating clockwise? it seems to me that the water isn't quite level, although i'm not 100% sure. |

Droughtby PtmanComment: challenge met. i like how the "river" curves through the photo, the trees behind it almost draw a line and all this meets up at the big green tree where the river is no longer visible. makes it very easy on the eye to wander around the shot and then find a place to rest. i think you also did well eliminating much of the sky since it's pretty bland. good job :) |

"Manned Scape"by KickDrum5150Comment: not quite what i was looking for in the landscape challenge (my interpretation is more along the lines of more nature than buildings) but i can see where you are going with this so i won't deduct much for it. for a cityscape photo, i think yours is very well done. it's sharp throughout and the taller buildings at the left and right frame the photo nicely. i especially like the starburst on the one light in the middle. did you use a filter or simply a very small aperture? the rame also works really nice. good work! :) |

Silhouette at sunrise.by MarklaneComment: challenge met wonderfully. i like the hints of color in the sky from the sunrise, and the fog over the land gives everything a somewhat mystical feel. the composition is really nice, too, with the tree in the front clearly being the main subject and framing the tree in the bottom left and the landscape. the black frame also works well. nothing i would change. high marks :) |

Surf and Turfby hardwaybetsComment: challenge met. i love the color of the water, and the people in various actions (jumping kid, etc.) on the beach. the bay has a nice curve to it that leads the eye through the photo nicely. to me, the least interesting part is the sky (except maybe for that little blue bit at the top). even though you'd then loose the blue bit, i think i would consider cropping this more into a panorama format, crop quite a bit of the sky off and maybe just a little bit off the bottom, too, to enhance the panorama format more. |

City Landscapeby kristie380Comment: doesn't really fit my interpretation of landscape (i'd like to see more nature than buildings, doesn't have to be exclusively nature), but i can see where you are going with this so i won't deduct too many points. i like the colors, especially the three yellow cabs on the left together. overall, i think the picture could be just a tad sharper though. |
