Ice Kabobsby AleciaComment: Now there's a nice twist on the gas flame / icecube theme. I like it a lot. Makes a nice abstract, but you can recognize what you are looking at when looking closer. The focus and colors are great. Not sure about the empty space at the top, maybe just a little more cropping would be an improvement. After the challenge, I'd also change the color in the flames on the right to be blue, but that's obviously not allowed for the challenge and not that important. One of my top 5 picks for this week :) |

Hot, Lazy Afternoonby jjbeguinComment: I love this. It's not your standard "something cold or hot" interpretation of the challenge that many have used, but your shot says "hot" much more than the others, at least to me. The composition is wonderful and all the clutter in the background actually help round off this image. Make it look more real and less staged I guess. Sepia works really well, as does the border. I'm hoping you have a winner here :) |

It's soooo hot, that this horse shrank!by MorganComment: My first thought here would not be of temperature, withouth the title, at least. Seems more like an attempt at using humor to tie a nice photo to a challenge. Anyhow. Very cute foal. Pretty colors, love the swishing tail. Since there's a lot of sun and shade, there's a really good potential for dodging and burning after the challenge to even things out. Especially the foal's head is too dark at the moment. |

hotby amsmythComment: Photos as small as this are very difficult to judge ... try taking advantage of the maximum allowed size for submissions (640x640). |

meltdownby camelotnorthComment: Does it make me think of temperature? It's not really the first thing that comes to mind, but I can see the link to the challenge. Cool distortion to play around with, I think cropping some of the rather dark area at the bottom would improve your picture, plus a little sharper focus. |

frozen bottlesby jbruno1397Comment: Does it fit the challenge? I suppose. I think I can see what you are going for, but this is one of those digital art pix that don't work for me personally, sorry. Plus, you did some sloppy cropping at the bottom left ... |

Green in Front - a Meditationby Starbright1973Comment: Does this make me think of temperature? Not really. I love candles, and I think there are some really cool pictures you can take with these ... but for people to judge the pictures properly, you should take advantage of the maximum allowed size (up to 640x640). |

Blazing Sunsetby sunflowerComment: The quality of your image really lets you down here, sorry. It appears quite pixelated on my screen, plus your horizon seems to need just a tad of CW rotation. Good idea for the challenge theme though. |

Bowlsby FranziskaLangComment: Thanks all for the wonderful comments, everyone. I was quite happy with the end result :) To those that suggested colored bowls and colorful backgrounds ... yes ... that would make a good photo, too, but it would totally be different from what I had in mind for this one ... |
