Thanks all for the kind votes. This photo did much better than I expected (and in my mind than it deserved, but I'm certainly not complaining). I'm especially thrilled that this is my first no 1s photo! :)

Totally cool shot. Love the idea and execution of it. I haven't finished voting yet, but I suspect this one will be in my top 10. One nitpicky complaint - the horizon isn't level!

Nice reflections. Different take on the challenge. Good job. It was probably not possible to avoid having the traffic light there, and you may have wanted it in the shot to tie this more to the challenge topic, but I find it distracting. It draws my eye away from the reflection and the color clashes with the rest of the more muted tones (and, yes, I know you can't just change the colors they use for traffic lights ;)

Oh, yes, beautiful. Apart from the fact that I think toads/frogs/lizards and the like are kinda cute, this is great angle, lighting, DOF, and excellent take on the challenge, my top 3 this week.

Sorry, I'm not very inspired by this one. In this light, the mountain doesn't look red (what would this have looked like at sunrise/sunset?) and your horizon doesn't seem totally level. And the picture isn't much about the road.

I personally would find this shot a little more interesting with something on the road to hold my interest, but the placement of the tunnel and the road leading into the distance is well done.

Annida, I agree with you, all those personal comments are uncalled for. Having said that, if you read the other half of the comments that remark on the execution of the photo, you'll see that many people also felt that there were several major flaws in this shot, and it didn't deserve high ratings with or w/out the topless guy.

Not sure about the anonymity aspect of the photo, Mr. Jim. Other than that, it looks very much like a snapshot. You have a street sign growing out of your shoulder, shadows on your neck, and you are right in the middle of the shot. Positioning towards one side of the shot and giving more visibility to the cars would've helped.

That building in the background is about to fall over to the left! I like the colors of the trolley and how it fills the frame though.

Good idea. It feels as if the people in the window should be the focal point for my attention, but the 2 keeps drawing my eyes away, it also doesn't help that the girl is cut off. Your horizon also isn't quite level (parallel lines in bottom right).
