Beauty For A Dayby FranziskaLangComment: thank you all for your nice comments. i've now posted my outtakes. (//www.langpage.com/dpchallenge). i'd be interested in what you think of my other version of these flowers that i was considering submitting. i've also posted a picture of my 'setup' just for kicks. what did surprise me with this one is that no one commented on the dark shade in the vase and hardly anyone commented on the reflections. you are all too kind :) |

Cool Sundaeby JonniboyComment: this is just awesome AND i'm getting hungry. backlighting this from the bottom works very well. what's that purple thing at the bottom? in my top 10 this week -- gr8photos (9) |

Blue Glassby andrewmComment: you have definitely met the challenge here, distortion is there, as well as transparency. however, your shot is very busy, i'm trying to figure out what i'm supposed to be focusing on and i'm having a hard time. would it have helped to look at a less busy background through the glass so that there aren't quite as many lines? Bee's Eye Viewby HoltwComment: it is obvious that you took this photo through something (semi)transparent, so you fulfilled the challenge. however, i am left with the impression that there is too much out of focus in this shot and my eyes are searching for a place in the photo where they can rest. since i don't know what it is that you took the photo through (even though i tried to figure it out), i'm not sure what advice to give you. i don't know if pulling back from the tranparent object would've helped or not. sorry. ThruTheEdgeby seasawComment: while you have definitely fulfilled the challenge, this image is so distorted that i am having a hard time making out what i'm really looking at. there are lights at the top, and i think there's a window and red carpet, but it is hard. also, nothing's totally sharp (difficult with semi-transparent, i know). a little more of a focal point would've given you a higher score from me. -- gr8photos (4) |

Liberty And Justice by jmsetzlerComment: wow, this must be one of the highest (the highest?) scores ever. and very well deserved. good job, john! :) |

Liberty And Justice by jmsetzlerComment: john, i knew you had a winner here as soon as i saw this on deviantart (before the challenge). awesome shot. i'm usually a little wary of flags (being german and all that), but this one is really well done (you can see what it is, but at the same time it appears very abstract). i like the vertical angle for the flag, and how the little water droplets make it look as if they are far away, this shot has a lot of perspective to it. how far away was the flag from the glass? you are definitely in my top 3 this week. -- gr8photos (10) |

Greenhouse viewby KathycComment: the containers in the bottom left make a nice focal point. your horizon doesn't seem to be level though. -- gr8photos (4) |
