Shades of Autumn by moodvilleComment: The lighting works very well here to backlight the plant, bring out the texture of the jug, and cast a nice shadow all at once. |

claireby MadMordegonComment: I think this is a bit too high key for the model's hair. The contrast between face and hair is a bit stark. But the composition and soft focus are great. |

A Night in the Spotlightby alanfreedComment: Cropped a bit tighter than conventional wisdom would suggest, but I like it. The noise on the well-blurred background works well here. |

Candlelit Thoughtsby trainComment: The low-key treatment matches the candlelight and the models expression. Not too sharp and nice composition. |

Gazing...to be a Star!by SonifoComment: The lighting and noise work with the models expression and pose to give this a nice pensive mood. There is too much dynamic range for the camera to properly capture, but you've compensated very well, putting detail in the important shadow areas rather than the highlights. |

In The Shadowsby EddyGComment: Very creative, and a great use of lighting. The very soft shadow gives just the effect I'm sure you intended. |

Blueby pitsamanComment: The backlighting has a nice effect, but I'm glad you used fill lighting to keep the model from being a silhouette; that would have been rather boring. But the silhouette treatment of the bottom part of the photo works well. You've really controlled the light well, and that was the goal of this challenge! I think the branches at the top add a nice touch; the model is looking up and it shows that there is something up there to look at. |
