Night Walkby glimpsesComment: I'll allow that the bridge is "all alone", but this doesn't really give me a feeling of either loneliness or solitude. |

Dreaming Of Winterby space amoebaComment: I like the overall composition and the feeling this photo conveys. The light cloud behind part of the tree is a bit distracting. |

Big Rocks, Little Boyby stuartComment: The boy is little, but he stands out and the lines in the photo draw the eye right to him. The rocks themselves have interesting textures and shapes, but I don't think they compete too strongly for the center of interest, which is clearly the boy. Great photo and nice title. |

My first time allone.....by litboltiComment: The pixelation gives a soft feel that I rather like. But there is nothing to draw attention to the model, who is too inconspicuous. |

crestfallenby nbortonComment: The lighting does help with the mood here, although there is some detail loss in the shadows. But the composition is lacking. The natural lines in the photo lead the eye to the tip of the 'V' in the jacket, which is right where the "rule of thirds" says the center of interest should be. But that isn't really very interesting. The parts of the photo that express the subject "crestfallen" are the face and clenched hand, and these are too close to the edges of the image. I think the photo would have been more effective cropped at about his chest (avoiding conflicting centers of interest) and with a little more face showing. |

I Wish I Had A Friendby OneSweetSinComment: The model's pose and expression along with composing the image with him at near the edge with a plethora of tones and textures in the rocks and water in front of him give this photo a mood of solitude, not really loneliness as the title suggests (but maybe that's just me; I like being alone and rarely experience loneliness). I think this is a great photo, although I don't particularly like the colored shirt and would prefer it a little sharper. But I almost wonder if you entered it in the wrong challenge; the lighting here is rather neutral. I'm not saying it "doesn't meet the challenge"; the lighting is certainly appropriate for the image. But it isn't really a key factor either. |

leaves "catching some rays"by wetlandComment: Nice capture of the sun with its streaming rays. The soft colors and mistiness evoke feelings of beauty and peace. But the diagonal lines and sharp contrasts between the lighted and shaded areas make the image seem stark and restless. To me, today, the latter seems to be stronger; at another time or for someone else, it will be the opposite. Either way, the road is there beckoning, making the viewer wonder what is behind the curve. But to follow it at a swift run or a liesurely stroll, that is the question. Some art conveys the artists viewpoint to the viewers. Other art, like this, is a mirror for the viewer's own feelings. |

Moonlight Marauderby JPRComment: The overexposed moon is somewhat distorted, but it nicely shows off the texture and contours of the land and casts a long shadow of the model. This photo has a good composition, but is technically poor. |
