Solitaire and solitude do have the same root, so I suppose this could meet the challenge. I don't really feel solitude when viewing this image, but that's probably just me. I like the way you've cropped this.

Seeing a couple doesn't make feel loneliness or solitude, but it's true that the couple is all alone. This is emphasized by their placement near the edge of the frame, where the viewer's eye is led by the strong lines.

Not really lonely, but certainly all alone and the title is a nice pun. I like the lighting and the white background. The thread or whatever it is should probably add character, but to me it is just distracting.

She certainly looks alone and lonely; the other kids are just part of the background. The black and white adds to the feeling, but I think the conversion made the image a little flat and blends the subject's into the background.

I like the composition. The model is closer to the corner than the "rule of thirds" would dictate, but it works perfectly here.

Great colors and textures. The couple stands out nicely and although a centered subject is not conventional composition, it works well here to emphasize they are alone. But a couple alone doesn't really suggest loneliness or solitude; indeed this photo give me the impression they are just waiting for you to put the camera away! I don't usually like borders, but this one works very well for this image.

Great color and a very striking image. Sailors are often alone and the expanse of empty ocean emphasizes this. The bright, beautiful sky definitely makes this photo convey solitude and the title reinforces this.
