Predator and prey by CoryComment: It took me way too long to get a chance to comment on this shot. It is truly incredible -- one of the best shots on DPC. Period!
I like this far better than the advanced editing shot because of the weeds. They add to much to have them blurred that much.
You really should submit this to national geographic's -- your shot. I think it stands an excellent chance of making it into the magazine.
Absolutely stunning! It must have been so incredibly exciting. I'm terribly jealous. :) |

The rooftops of Copenhagen by PaulComment: Absolutely love this shot! I was a 9 from me, and I'm not sure why it wasn't a 10. Silly me!
Bear's right -- very Mary Poppinesque. :D
Congrats on a perfect blue! |

Day1by agrimaceComment: ooh this is fun! I wonder what it would look like with a star filter. I have one, but I haven't really played with it. Would it work on glittery ornaments? |

christmas spiritby cowtownmomComment: I really like the shot. Great mix of light and dark. I love the reflection of the tree on the sidewalk. The person is a wonderful addition, and a great touch. I would have preferred the person either to the left or the right a bit more and not so centered, though it is very difficult to time things perfectly. It's not a big deal, just a very small suggestion.
One other very small suggestion: did you sharpen after resize? I pulled the image into photoshop and did a smart sharpen with settings of 109 & .5, and it brings out the details of the tree beautifully. It looks a little muddy in the shot as it stands. I don't particularly like it on the rest of the shot, so I'd mask that out for the sharpening round.
Just a couple of thoughts. I think it's a great photo, and a great find. Very nicely done! |
