1984 - George Orwellby FourPointXComment: Great idea for 1984. A couple of thoughts: I would be curious to see what it would have looked like with the focus a little more to the left -- like on the 2nd or 3rd panel in from the right instead of focusing so far to the right. I do love the narrow depth of field, it's just that the focal point seems too far towards the edge of the picture to feel comfortable. I also would have been curious to see what the shot would have looked like if you would have stood on a stool or something to get a bit higher to get more of the screens. The bottom third of the photo isn't as interesting as the top. And I'm wondering if it would have been better if you were higher and had more of the front screens in the shot.
Team mate -- so not voting, but it would have been a 6 for good idea, but I think the composition could have been a bit better. :) |

City-of-Glassby artistChanComment: I like the treatment of the sky. The foreground seems quite dark, imo. I do like the tilt. -5- |

Piercing by Ryu Murakamiby P-A-U-LComment: haha! Quite a shot. However, I'm afraid I'm having a hard time voting on this challenge. Many of the shots seem to be inspired by the title of the novel -- not by the novel itself. -5- |

"A Prayer for Owen Meany"by DudskiComment: Quite a cool shot. I think you need to come back during night and use a flash to get a shadow of the statue on the front face of the building.
In looking at this a second time around -- I'm not sure about the magentas and reds in the processing. I'm thinking I'd like a plain B&W or perhaps a blue cast a bit better. It's looking a little too pink today.

Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann by MargaretNetComment: Absolutely gorgeous. Stunning. Beautiful! I'm not a landscape person, but this is so lovely! As to the novel, I don't know it, but from the wikipedia summary, it works for me. It seems more hopeful and beautiful than the dreary sanatorium, but it sounds like the mountains recur often, so I'll buy it. :)

Call of the Wild by BarbBComment: I can see how the title might inspire the shot, but I'm not sure how the novel itself would inspire it. I'm sorry if I'm missing it. Nicely done, though. -6- |
