Comet Lulin, 2 24 09by MelonMusketeerComment: Congrats on capturing this -- I knew it was coming, but it's been cloudy here, even if I had the equipment to try shooting it. Message edited by author 2009-02-25 22:36:45. |

On The Houseby EGoobieComment: Congratulations -- you have some other fine shots in your portfolio too! My son Isaac has also beaten me head-to-head in a challenge, though he hasn't advanced his photography nearly as much as you have.
Keep up the great work! |

04 - Truckinby VitaminBComment: Reminds me of one of those "Mad Max" type of movies ... certainly takes it out of the realm of "ordinary." Probably not the way I'd have edited the original, but it effectively conveys a "mood" or "feel" ... |

Pitcher Plantby GeneralEComment: The previous comments were all copied from the anonymous image posted for voting. Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment -- I can't really disagree with any of them :-) -- and thanks to Don and Joe for running this.
As I said, I'm not entirely sure why I picked this subject, though part of it was using what I thought might be an unusual subject, partly I was pretty pleased with the "technicals" (not my usual strong suit), and a lot of it was being against the time deadline and not having many other "good" shots which hadn't already been posted here. |

Pitcher Plantby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by ubique: I've never really looked at one of these before (not being a plant guy). So I guess that if you showed me something I hadn't noticed before (and you did), it must be pretty good. Don't do any more for me though ... I really don't want to start liking flower & plant shots. It's such a small step to insects and splashes from there.
P.S. This is really a quite beautiful thing, isn't it? It started me thinking about Keats's Ode on a Grecian Urn. |
