The Darkness of Depressionby nbortonComment: This reminds me of photos a friend of mine has taken/published. I like the way you kept some detail in the quilt (comforter? is that another "layer of meaning" in this photo?) all the way to the left edge. If you're interested, I'll send you a link to his photos...if we allowed dodge/burn functions I'd darken that spot at the base of the big toe...with that change I'd love to see it printed on matte-finish paper. |

Dumbarton Landingby lennierComment: I think I've been in the analogous location by the old bridge, but not the new one. Would love to see later at high-resolution. |

Cloudsby ashishtibrewalComment: If the clouds are the subject, I think I'd try tweaking the tone range to make them stand out a bit more. |

Perseveranceby jmattysComment: Love the extra "space" reference. Need your advice for getting better shots of the moon... |

Saving The Life of a Wormby lcgleahComment: I have a running exchange (since about 1976) with a friend of mine regarding worms -- I plan to send him a link to this when next week. |

Tree Silhouetteby xertionComment: I don't think the fallen tree adds to meeting the challenge. From the lighting, I think I'd have moved to the right (if possible) and made the two trunks line up more tightly. I shoot a lot of sunsets and trees myself -- keep shooting as many as you can, they are worth every megabyte! |

goodnight elizabethby SatelliteSpeckComment: It's hard to tell if you have intentional soft-focus of a little blur from camera-shake. As it shows on my monitor and texture in the sheet is gone just above her shoulder; if it were my shot I'd try to leave the folds showing (if possible) for about another six inches -- assuming I'd been smart enough to think of the shot in the first place... |
