I've done this before -- it's tricky to get a good exposure. One rick is to use a young child -- I have a shot of my son's hand where the bones show pretty distinctly.

I'd also heard that for a long time rookie engineers were "hazed" by assigning them the bogus task of frosting the inside of the bulb...very funny until one day a guy did it...but I digress...
