Ice Cyclesby poeticphotoComment: Those are really interesting -- as you point out, most of us have never encountered (or looked for) these.
If your camera has a time-lapse feature, it be fantastic to shoot this window every few minutes through the night and watch them grow ... easy to make the series of frames into a movie. |

Stop Wasting Moneyby SammieComment: Originally posted by puma: Either you are destroying money and should be arrested ... |
It is not illegal to destroy or even write on US currency, unless you attempt to defraud. If you have over half of the bill intact, you can obtain a replacement at a bank.
If you light your cigar with a $100 bill, but only burn the end, it costs you nothing but some inconvenience.
If you print out US currency as a prop, make it at least 25% larger or smaller than actual size, and only print one side on any sheet -- you should then be within the legal guidelines.
Cool picture too! |

Expectantby GeneralEComment: Thanks for the comments and suggestions -- I did consider some of them before I submitted this shot.
There really is no more platform to the left -- that "Danger" sign is on a gate at the end of the platform. I didn't like having him right in the center, but I didn't want to crop, because I also wanted to emphasize the length and emptiness of the platform.
I couldn't really get a better angle both because of the rain (I had no umbrella), and because the guy was actually walking around quite a bit -- he was only in this pose for a few seconds. I wanted to get the shot from the back to avoid release issues. |
