I like the irregular yin/yang effect of the composition.

I wish this was composed better.. its an interesting idea.

You seem you be the only one to get the idea ... I wanted this look a lot like what you'd see under those conditions.

I had to shoot in tight (macro mode), since I was both modeling for and taking the shot -- with my left hand, crossed over. Sitting in the driver's seat, there's only a few inches between the lens and the wheel.

With a one-second exposure, I was actually pretty impressed at how in-focus the top of the bottle came out; most of the rest is more OOF because of the shallow DOF.

This is a nice variation on a theme I've used myself -- well done : )

You seem to be the only one to notice the blurred background ... good eye! : )

FWIW on the print image I have tried to make the effect a little less pronounced, and added matching blurring through the windows and out the back of the cab, which I didn't bother with for the entry.

I am especially happy with (and surprised by) all the comments on the sharpness and clarity, as this was a handheld shot at an extremely slow 1/6-second shutter speed, and I have a disk full of slightly blurry train shots to show that that this was perhaps as much luck as skill.

Thanks for all the comments and my best score in a while!

Contrasting colors make a great "yin-yang" effect.

I like the contrast between the funky wood structure on one side and the glass and metal one one the other.

Good choice of location to make the composition, and good timing to catch it there. Wish there had been a little more light on the engine/foreground; I understand rescheduling trains is not always an option : )
