Shades of Yellowby JeanComment: Didn't I see another view of this arrangement in the rhythm challenge? I think I like the leaves sideways better. Focus is very good. Framing - works well, but there's something about the sides that seems less appealing. Color seems good, but I would have been tempted to make the yellow more vivid (increased saturation). Sorry, I was very rash with my first view of this shot and scored it a 4, so you get a nice upgrade! 7 Swash |

photo paperby AllenComment: You have lots of yellow, challenge met. Focus seems WAY off, to the extent that I want to ask, was this on purpose? I am open to PM's, so feel free to explain if you would like to, even during the challenge week. I'm having a hard time offering positive comments, bear with me. Even the exposure seems less than even handed, did you use a flash? (centered on the right side of your camera?) The best I can go is a 4, sorry. Swash |

A Whisper of Sunlightby GotchaComment: Very interesting piece. This begs to be explained! The how it's done might just be as interesting as the photo itself. While I like it very much, some parts give me the feeling of spot editting, but I cannot be certain (the face in front seems to be covering the faces behind as an overlay, but really I cannot say with any degree of certainty. Would you be adverse to a PM conversation? (Please???)

Arlington Winterby BAMartinComment: Man, can I NOT pick the winners or what! I really liked this shot. Nicely done and very emotional (well, it could be a personal thing with my Dad dying recently and putting him to rest at a National Cemetary, too.) |

Elephant Feetby fsieradzkiComment: Go figure! Another shot I picked for high placement, due to it's unusualness, but sorry, wrong again! Nice pic! |

Goddess of Mercy in winter outfitby kenboComment: This was one of my favorites from this challenge. Too bad the masses didn't like it as well. I thought this would place very well! I'm so sorry for you. |

Where Valor Proudly Sleepsby MiekaComment: Very nice shot! Great perspective pic. Color is vividly wonderful. Framing - nice job! Focus - also looks good to me! Interest - strong emotional appeal, good job! I can't really tell you why this isn't a 10, it certainly is an extremely strong 9 and very likely a ribbon shot! I'm gonna stick with 9, but it sure is nice!!! Swash |

Flip sideby JackoComment: This may be THE perfect flower picture. Very, very nice! Very nice details. Color and contrast are wonderful. Framing - I love it. Challenge - a tad weak, but totally acceptable (maybe a longer stem????) Very strong 9 Swash |

tumbling dominoesby MajorChaosComment: Very, very nice. Good perspective shot! Color is wonderful! Focus is perfect! Framing - kinda looks like you cut a few on the right, but overall, pretty good. Interest - well, everybody loves action shots, though I might have liked it with a few more dominoes fallen down (not that I'm asking for the sun and the moon, just the moon!) Easy 9 - Swash
(I have a feeling you may win, this is THAT good of a shot.) |
