I like the contrast between OLD, newer and NEW. Focus is great, framing is pretty close, great color, but it lacks ZING. I keep thinking, could all three have the same total, as a way to re-inforce this idea? Maybe not. How would you communicate that total with the abacus? I started this shot as a 6, but it's really well shot and on the challenge, so let's bump one, welcome to the 7s. Swash

Gothic Detail

I like this shot! I have to minor complaints. First, I think I would have preferred either closer in to a smaller section for more detail (and maybe a touch less cluttered looking) or farther away to attempt to "take in" a more complete view. Ths second issue you couldn't really control. The shot is color (I think), but is soo full of greys, it seems black and white. I like grey, dress in grey all the time, but I don't think it photographs very well. Did you try this as a true black and white?
I am still going to give you a 9, as the shot is that good. Swash

Old Power Station

Seems so very dark, were you going for a gloomy effect? I think I should be glad this is an old power station, it looks like a coal burner. Foreground almost completely gone. On the other hand, I like the sky part. 6 Swash

Wow, this is an OLD collection! This is an interesting concept. The CHER album is still too glossy and reflects light back (sad). Frank's album seems grainy and dark. You also got some glare on the EArly Hits Of 1964. The Best of Bread seems like it came through the best, but is mostly obsured. Think you used about the right number of LP covers, but need to work on the lighting/exposure issues.

Yet another cute title twist attempting to slide into the challenge. Without the title, I KNOW the wrinkles are from water soaking, with the title, I offer you a twisted little smile. It's a fine shot, well focused, nice lighting, but the best I can offer you is a 5. Swash

Very nice! Excellent depth of field! If I had any kind of suggestion, I think a little added action might be nice, like a finger or a hand playing a note, or how about this idea : a strong side light to cast shadows against the white keys? It needs just a little more punch. Don't feel bad, I still score this as a 9! Swash

The kettle seems in such good condition, I have a hard time convincing myself this is old, but it does describe an older way of life, so mostly credit for the challenge. I know you couldn't do this, but it would have been much more lively with a fire and maybe some stew bubbling in it. (YUM) Good focus. 6 Swash

Beautiful shot. (my truck was older!) I did a similar (more close up) shot. I guess we could say this was the cliche of the week. To me, that says, we agree this meets the challenge well. 9 Swash
