Wow, this is an amazing image in so many ways, the completeness of the rainbow itself, the light and color of the rest of the scene, the coverage of your captures and your skillful image stitching. I had never seen a rainbow so impressive but thanks to this image I now feel I've had that opportunity.

I had actually already shot this image by the time I noticed your 'umbrella' post and it certainly made me think (and it made me laugh - I appreciated the engaging, journalistic intent); I did feel the need to acknowledge my lighting choices in my description of the image and I meant what I said about having no clue about lighting - I think I even used the umbrella backwards and since Nic was lying on the kitchen floor and I had to work around the kitchen table I managed to cast a shadow from the leg of the tripod across her face! Thank goodness for Viveza - I was able to recover the shadow area with some careful control point guided trickery! I should have re-shot but I had already stretched my wife's tolerance after having her lie for about 40 minutes on a rock hard surface. Proof that I am a very amateur photographer in every sense of the word.
