We are free no moreby JudiComment: I want to like this more than I do. I love the pristine focus on the eye and the muted highlights but I would like to see the shadows taken down a touch. Also, I find the texture invasive on her face.
But, I gave it an 8 so I liked it quite a bit. |

insightby flahermaComment: The one eye, the too-close composition, the imperfect skin. A marvel of photographic choices. |

my delusion by NiallOTuamaComment: I do like this. A lot. I've given it a 9. It was a 10, but I couldn't shake the sense that this is more about the processing than the image itself - of course they complement; but I feel you have begun to lose your vision, your photography with your chosen edit.
I do like the overall motif and the lighting though. A lot. |

'Mericaby RKTComment: This is my top pick. There's something so evocative here and a degree of immersion too.
It's like you've captured a perfect life moment and put it in front of us.
Perfect choice of toning and selective blur. |

Clearwater Revivalby hahn23Comment: For me, this doesn't represent the sort of image I'm hoping to enjoy in this challenge. Of course there's nothing technically wrong with the image, but it holds little interest for me. I'm one of those DPC members that likes the blur, the texture, the unusual motif and will often be pursuing the 'posthumous' thread. You'll know yourself that this isn't that sort of image - for which some voters may be very pleased! I'm just not one of them.
For me the 'Art' challenges are about embracing the avant-garde garde, going beyond (or falling short of) conventional representations, this image doesn't really do that for me; but I do like the intersecting ripples and the blue light. |

I am from Northern Ireland myself but Somerset has adopted me:) |
New job! |

The Wild Northby PaulComment: Originally posted by riot: Excellent tones, well composed and nice details - your choice of shutter speed was perfect to capture the crashing waves with just enough detail while conveying movement, too. My only complaint is that there appear to be some odd vertical marks in the sky above the rocks on the top left, possibly from dodging and burning, as weell as some visible clone marks in that area of the clouds in the top left, perhaps from cloning out sensor dust? There's a faintly visible repeated pattern that was presumably not added intentionally. Overall one of my highest scores in this challenge. |
Perfect eye. I have so much sensor dust at the moment - recent entries have needed over 200 repair points! Picking up my sensor cleaning kit today. |
