I kinda don't dig this crusty stuff - but this one wins me over a little. I really like the coloration.

Thats the stuff! I really like this; nice to see an overlay. I never knew how to blend / combine layers until the Mystic Creature challenge. Perhaps I'll put a few into this side challenge. Thanks for the push.

What a huge eye - great profile too. I don't know if you have access to such a filter but a tonal contrast filter dialled really low would give just a tiny bit of crispness to the feathers. I sometimes used tonal contrast instead of sharpening.

I agree with others - very regal.

Lovely deep flower colours here and the pollenated bee is charming.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: The colours here are quite nice; particularly the pinkish cluster, I'm also a fan of the near black sky too - that slight residual daylight blue is compelling.

Critical stuff: Although I'm a fan of the use of blur, I just don't think this image hangs together. I like the idea, but it just doesn't feel crafted. I think a squarer crop may have appealed more - the top 1/4 of the image doesn't contribute much.

Overall: I like the idea behind the shot but it lacks some magic for me.

Positives:I'm a sucker for unusual POVs and this one qualifies! There are quite a lot of leading lines in this image which draw our eye along up past the paper to the dual door handles - I like how that happens. The whole environment is quite intriguing, the reflected light looks like it comes from a window making this an internal corridor. The handles themselves are interesting - a hotel? An apartment block? I'm not sure.

Critical stuff: Not too much - inherent interest is low but the scene is the scene.

Overall: Quite an interesting shot but I think scenes with quite low inherent interest need a bit more story to them than this offers up.

Very funny! And some people think muslims have a monopoly in fanatical fundamentalism.

Nice documentary shot.

Bags of story to this one - I'm not sure I like the processing but I can sure appreciate that it gives your image a well defined look.
