Positives: Simply stunning - candid portraits simply don't get better than this. Pristine focus and wonderful isolation of subject. I really like your toning too. His expression is priceless, but your capture is better.

Critical stuff: Just that fleck on his jacket lapel... I can see why you might want to keep it authentic though.

Overall: I hope this takes the Blue. It just might too.

Positives: I love the dynamism of this image and how your high contrast handing turns their movements into brush strokes. This great abstraction - reducing the form and movement to its primary elements but in a way the distils rather than obscures the scene.

Critical stuff: Nope

Overall: Very well executed with a great end result.

Positives: Wonderfully measured image. You've got the luminosity of your frame just perfect - optimising the wonderful light. The soft grain too - so well judged. The hint of colour - perfect.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all

Overall: A portrait that goes beyond the capture of a face - you communicate much. Masterful and magnificent.

Positives: An image that seems to want to tell a story - like a point of view shot in a thriller, looking through an old screen as we hide - or a stalker in a favoured spot... I really like the way the pattern on the screen mirrors the roofline.

Critical stuff: It won't appeal to all - but I can't think of any critique that would be useful here.

Overall: Nicely seen, nicely made, nicely communicated.

Positives: What a wonderfully constructed image - the grain, the contrast, the glowy slight blue, the overall composition, the sense of perspective, the powerful negative space, the inclusion of just enough cloud detail to add interest but not make it about the sky - and then the ladder.

Critical stuff: Nothing.

Overall: A rare thing - a perfectly optimised image.
