Winter to rememberby PaulComment: Sure. I think it’s a better image and indeed I already tried that when you suggested it and preferred it as an image. It didn’t have the gloom of the lived experience; but I do prefer the version you suggest. Message edited by author 2021-01-21 08:10:52. |

Winter to rememberby PaulComment: Originally posted by willem: Impressive, but underexposed and incorrect white balance. Applying a levels correction in photoshop with the white eyedropper tools makes this so much better. It retains the blue in the waterfall but makes the snow white. |
I'm confident the white balance was correct here. This was the observed coloration of the scene. It's a dilemma though to 'correct' the scene or to convey the experience of being there. I have achieved the latter I think, is it a worse photograph as a result of that choice? Perhaps. |

Yep, dunes to the left, surf just encroaching on the right and a gaggle of people in the right mid distance. |

Appreciate that. Nothing added from me though - this is how it came out of the camera, albeit with the camera's 'grainy black and white' filter applied, in conjunction with the pinhole. |
