I see the meaning and symbolism behind this powerful image immediately. The last days of the Russian Empire are here. The end of the cold war and communism. Ingenious and creative way to illustrate the challenge theme and technically very competently executed. Lovely background against which the " Babuschka's" stand out very nicely. I especially like the symmetry because of the "Babuschka's" being arranged from large to small and from the left to the right.
The last little "Babuschka" that is exposed within the second smallest "Babuschka" adds a lovely and lighthearted touch. The colors and the detail too are exceptional.

End Of The Line

Fantastic contrast and detail combined with a keen eye for composition have made for an exceptionally creative and at the same time visually pleasing image representing a theme as old as time itself. Bold lines against a stark and weathered background with plenty of contrast. One can almost still hear the old railway wagons and locomotives thundering along the track bringing the first pioneers into the unknown wilderness not knowing what to expect. For many it was indeed the end of the line when personal hopes and dreams were not fulfilled and dreams of a promised land were shattered.

Another powerful image of the pitfalls and fruitlessness of war and how it means the end of so much for the innocent victims. I feel powerful emotions from the broken looking figure in the foreground. He looks dejected at having lost everything in the war and searches for his loved ones and possessions in the bombed out smoking ruins of what was once probably his home. Very dramatic photo and of high journalistic merit. Exceptionally well captured.

Fantastic and superlatively creative. The title also is absolutely unambiguous.
I love the rich pinks and the incredible depth of field which gives this image an almost 3D kind of look. A winning shot in my book in every aspect.

Lovely black and white image with infinite depth,clarity and superb contrast and tonal values.I love the use of natural lighting here. The message of the "end" is powerfully brought across in the title and fits in perfectly with the challenge theme. The girls pose, the positioning of the chairs and their reflections in the polished floor adds an extra dimension to this wonderful composition.

Fantastic photograph. Gives a powerful message about the "END" being always present and that one has to be careful at all times. I love the purple socks and black and white striped socks. It makes a visual feast of this image combined with the black and white. Lots of depth and detail in this too.
