The tonality and detail work of this shot are incredible. It's simply laden with details that work together and do not look busy!

This is very busy. It is good that you used a square crop for this otherwise within the constraints of allowable screen real estate you would have a mish mash of details. As it is it's just too busy. It confuses the eye. It doesn't know where it's supposed to end up.

Looks like an overly enthusiastic use of a new tool... Too saturated to appear realistic.

You need more of a subject to make this pop. The patterns on the ground just aren't quite enough by themselves.

The scene by itself is not enough to make a truly great photograph. Even a landscape needs some type of subject to give the eye a place to land. This is an easy trap to fall into especially if surrounded by scenery as nice as this.

I have never gone back through with such a critical eye and reevaluated photos submitted in a challenge before. However because of what I consider to be the controversial nature of this rules set I am doing this now. My first time through I was willing to give you the benefit of a doubt on this extremely lucky capture of an eagle flying through a beautiful scene. The more I look at it though, the more it appears that the bird was added after the fact. The lighting around the bird doesn't match the rest of the sky and gives it a highlighted appearance. This may be a very good job of visual trickery, but visual trickery it is and therefore I am forced to reduce your score to one that is more fitting with the spirit of the rules...

Though nicely executed, I personally don't care for gimicky shots like this one...

This is a bit busy and doesn't have enough of a subject to hold the eye. From the title I deduce that the gates are supposed to be the subject but by their transparent nature they don't really fill the role...

THis is another shot that makes me wonder if you used HDR. You have some great detail in the foreground but the sky is not overly saturated or blown out. I do think that you have a little too much blue in your snow but (being a Michigander) appreciate how hard it is to shoot snow in shadows without that effect.
