IMHO this shot begs for a little more detail (or less detail) in the bottle...I keep trying to figure out what the label says and that kinda detracts from the overall impact of an otherwise simply elegant shot!

Nice study in shallow DOF but I'm not sure that that is the purpose of the form Still Life... This would be much more interesting with more in focus and with more interesting lighting to bring out the 'textures' of the keyboard. THe splotchy background past the moniter is not attractive...

Nice composition but suffers from inadequate lighting. It needs (not much) fill lighting on the handle of the sword and the rim of the hat!

Holding Still

I'm not sure that this one qualifies as still life....but I like it anyways! It's an awesome shot overall. It does have a couple of flaws, like the bit of blown out highlites on the apple and stem. Also I would like to see the hand the ever slightest bit more in focus at the finger tips. This is one of my favorite shots from this set!

Cool effect with the card. I wanna know how ya did that. I think that this scene is a little busy though. Also the color tone here doesn't do it for me personally. Take a couple of elements out and make the colors more natural and I would really like this one!

I like what you are trying to do here but this image doesn't quite pull it off. I think what it needs is some fill lighting, either with a fill flash or with reflectors (white posterboard?) of some sort arranged around the scene. The colors here are dull and lifeless...

I really LOVE the tones here. The purples and reds and pinks are gorgeous! Love the silhouettes of the boats. All things said, I don't think that this qualifies as a still life so I can't score as high as I would with no theme involved.

Not exactly items that I would put together in a composition. I think a little more light would help a lot as far as focus and colors. I do like the bowl. I would really play around with different angles to take advantage of optics associated with the bowl!!!
