Where's the theme in this photograph? Just a bunch of fruits and veggies thrown in a bowl. To further define, I'm not looking for a specific theme, or even any theme at all. You need to do that. You need to tell me what you want me to see, or what you want me to imagine. Still life photography needs theme just as it needs spatial relationships, accute lighting, clarity, and texture. You don't do a good job of any of that, in my opinion. What I'd like to see you do (up to you, of course) is come at this same setup from a different perspective, with more dramatic lighting (the LAST fruit in the bowl; quite dramatic), and better design elements. I'm sure you'd agree that you can take a better picture. I don't like your background either...how does it help in the overall impact of the photograph? It doesn't. |
