The City that Never Sleepsby RoosterComment: I'm sorry but this is just way too small. I would much rather see a small portion of this view where I can appreciate the detail. I'm sure that this would be the bomb as a poster size print but...

red star lightningby doginroomComment: From the Critique Club
Wow this is the first time I've drawn a shot that has NO comments previously...
First let me say that I love the color tone here. Nice shadings of red complimented with the warm hues of the light bulbs!
This shot seems to suffer from a lack of focus in more ways than one. There doesn't seem to be any one spot in the shot that is really in focus. If you were shooting for a soft focus effect you ALMOST have it, but there doesn't seem to be a reason for it.
From a compositional point of view there is no subjective focus point here. There isn't a real place to look. There seems to be no real singular purpose for the shot. The shot is also (wierdly enough) kind of busy in a simple kind of way. There are a few too many competing lines trying to draw your attention to a non existant focal point...
One thing that you did do exceptionally well in my opinion was the exposure on the lights. It is right on without being over exposed at all!
Don't let the low score get ya down because I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

As the World Turnsby dsidwellComment: I would like to see what your EXIF data was for this. I like how you managed to get motion blur but can still read the captions. I also like how it looks like it has an atmosphere. Creative!
