Captain George Highlighted.by graphicfunkComment: Very nice portrait! Great job of capturing the depth in his face. The colors, especially the skin tones, seem a little flat though. Maybe needs more light? Maybe needs a boost in levels? Making skin tones right is not my forte unfortunately...

Great Grandpa,Chuck and his story book.by camelotnorthComment: Very nice shot. I like how you capture the character of his face. The older generations are so photogenic! Your background is a little distractiong. It either needs more light so you can really see it, or less light to make it less eye catching. Your lighting could be toned down just a touch on the subject too. All in all a very nice shot though!

Photographers portraitby birgirComment: Would love to see what the background really looks like here! Probably the best job of lighting the background for effect that I've seen in this challenge. The subject however is a tad bit too dark. A little fill light to bring out the detail in his pants and a little catch light would make this the bomb!

My Brother Daveby bobdaveantComment: LIghting is just a touch harsh here, making the face a little flatter than I would normally like. You did a great job of capturing his personality though. Looks like a fun loving individual!

Margaretby melismaticaComment: Every time I look at this, I try and figure out just how old she is. The lighting, costume and old school portrait framing, make it hard to determine! Great shot.

Roger the Plumberby biggood53Comment: I can truly feel the personality here! You did a great job of capturing it. I would like to see just a touch of bounce or fill light on the right side (his left) of his face. Great job.

Didiby RoosterComment: Very nice job. Lighting, focus, pose, composition are all spot on! The only thing that takes this from a great portrait to a nice portrait is the background. IMHO it is a little busy. A shallower DOF or more subdued lighting on the background would take this into the realm of great portrait!

Mayor of Dogvilleby ellamayComment: Of all the dog shots, this is porobably the nicest done. You need some more light though. Not a lot, just a bounce light from the bottom to fill in the lost details and a touch of catch light in tht eyes and this would be the bomb!

Self-portrait With Flowersby carlacrypticComment: Love the portrait part of this shot, but IMHO the flowers make it a little busy and detract from the lovely subject! Oh and this would have been a nice shot for the purple challenge also!

Shy Marijaby flip89Comment: Very cute composition. The pose does make her look 'shy'. The focus though IMHO is way too soft. Nice lighting to bring out the depth, just needs more focus.
