Black Swanby burtctComment: IMHO this is overprocessed. I never did quite get this kind of processing. Nothing personal, just my taste...

Lunch Time at the Zooby postoakinversionComment: Cute shot! However it looks kinda flat. A B/W treatment playing with contrast (Or even a selective desat keeping the yogurt container in color) may have improved the overall quality!

It's in the eyes..by docpjvComment: Your lighting looks vey harsh. What time of day were you at the zoo? You may be able to fix this with levels...

Dad & Daughters by roadrunnerComment: It's amazing how when sometimes you break the rules it works. You don't follow the rule of thirds. The centerline of the image matches the heads of your subjects almost exactly. You don't have any leading lines. You're frame is almost empty. You have a great amount of 'bald headed' sky. You're slightly oversharpened causing slight haloing around all the dark areas. It's basically a snapshot. However it moves the viewer enough to bring you a win.
Congrats on the first ribbon, a blue even!
