Cute photo -- I find the grass / plant in the foreground annoying and while you may find your kids extraordinary, they don't exactly invoke the thought of extraordinary in your casual viewer. This shot certainly does belong in the family photo album. I'm sure they'll enjoy it more each year they see it, look back, and remember the carefree days of school-free summer.

Charity Horse Show Names Grand Champion

I could buy a caption like "Charity Horse Show at the Fair" but if this is the "Grand Champion" where is the ribbon, trophy, award that shows this as the champion. Your title should match the photo. This photo mostly works, but I'd like to NOT see the guys hand from right and also lose the pickup and trailer in the lower left. The angle, clouds, general framing other than that works great.

What a concept. Your Caption matches the photo -- I'm surprised how rare that is in this challenge. Sure. I could buy this as a newspaper photo -- clearly meets the challenge and is a nice execution of a photo.

Attraction

I've seen several butterflies in this challenge where everything but the butterfly was desaturated. What is it they are trying to say? Here, you've left the flower with a title of "Attraction." GREAT!!! The title emphasizes the point of the photo. I could see this as a poster with the title printed across the top of the photo in that negative space (I know this is illegal for the challenge -- I'm just making a suggestion for a future print). Great DOF and nicely cropped. Maybe not a winner, but should make top 10 IMHO.

HA! Very unique and a great image. The soft focus even works for this shot -- I wonder what others say about the focus... I guess I'll check later. This would be better if you'd dropped all the green and desaturated all colors but the red. The lady in red (lower right) raises the rating by at least 2 points. One of my favorites in this challenge.

I would like to see this photo with her lips and maybe eyes still colored as well as the maple leaf and earring. I also wish the hair wasn't blocking the earring. The wisp of hair between the leaf and earring is perfect by itself.

Where's the Hurricane preparation? Title should match photo. Nice photo, but this is supposed to be a newspaper photo/title. They should relate.

There are some nice photos in this challenge, but the title they've chosen doesn't match the shot -- thus, it falls in points from my voting. This is certainly an exception to that -- this photo and title match 100%. Nicely done. I could believe I'd see this very picture and title whilst viewing the local newspaper. Best in the show so far (but please note, I've seen some real stinkers so far).
