"Everyone set? Good, no stopping until we get to grandma's"by vawendyComment: And you are going to have tears
Great idea for this one. Like what you have tried to achieve.
However, as the car is a major element in this photo, I think it is too far in the corner. it needed to be, both horizontally and vertically, closer to the centre (actually, closer to the thirds line really) This then would have made it the second focal point for the photo, rather than being right in the corner........ |

Childhood Dreamsby jasonlpriceComment: The light from the window is quite harsh, causing shaddows on the far side of her face and hands. The crop is very restrictive and the pose appears awkward, like maybe she isn't holding the camera correctly. |

Remember those long walks down the back to the dunny?by ButterflyGirlComment: Thankfully No
The crop of this is too close on the right hand side. I don't know why you have the bad discolouration in the upper corner of this. The sky is blown out for much of the scene, as you shot intot he sun, so needed to overexponse the sky to get the toilet lit |

Fresh milkby BrinComment: Never did get milk like this. Comes from being a little too young, and always getting the overprocessed crap from the supermarket. The white is good, I like the angle. For me, a little lighter on the can to make it stand out a touch more from the black background would help, as I feel it is a touch dark overall. However, with all the different monitors, others might say you are too light....... |

X 56by ace flymanComment: Well and truly forgotten this one. The moss, the vines all add to this shot. A great subject for this challenge. I think your crop is a little too close. A little extra room on all sides could have improved this, as it appears very contrained within the border. Not sure the border is giving you much except adding to the contrained feel |

• Caboose •by PenelopeKComment: Not in my time, except on the historic railway
Love the Red in this, it makes the subject jump out from the rest of the image. A shame about the puddle though. There is not enough of a reflection for it to add to the image. The vertical crop I think could have been changed to help. Some more sky, and less forground a bit could have helped. Horizontally you are on the rule of thirds, doing it vertically may have also helped. |

Ready for Combatby phloverComment: Great Artifact. Wish i had one of those. The clutter in teh background hurts you in the image though. Moving it to a place where there was less in the background would have been great. Also, increasing the contrast on this also woul have helped. The colours and texture could have been brought out so much more. |

Human Aided Designby LaMasComment: CAD is so much easier. I can remove that line with a click of the button, instead of scratching it out off the film.
Simple, elegant, and works really well for me. I like the light fading to black across the plans. Maybe the top instrument could have been lit better, but that would have been tricky still geting the fade effect. I even like the shaddows that have been created. I think they also add to what you are trying to achieve. |

Old Fashioned Candy Buttonsby justineComment: Now this is one I don't remember, either I am not old enough, or we didn't have these down in Aus
Great Depth of field here. The bright colours work really well for this. Prehaps a black background, instead of wood grain, would have really added to this as the wood grain detail is noticable.
Apart from that, a great submission |
