I like the angle here but the picture is way too light. It looks like there is some texture to whatever the cat is lying on and in my opinion that would have added something to the picture.

The windows in the back detract from the subject in my opinion. I would have liked a different and maybe closer angle since the man has very interesting features and definitive clothing. I do very much appreciate the carving on the chair and would definitely include that as well because it gives a real texture.

This is a very interesting picture. I'm curious about the boy in sandals (what is the covering on his forearms and hand?) and it feels like there might be an undercurrent going on even though there is a definite feeling of stillness or calm to the photo. I'm uncertain about the sepia tone - maybe because it is looking flat. Anyway to me pictures should make you think or feel or both and this one does that. Technically I am such a beginner but can say that the cropping is very pleasing to me, the light spot on the wall is a little distracting and with the hint of shadow on the wall I wonder if that couldn't have been enhanced. Love the expressions on the boys faces.

The interesting thing about all of these cat photos ( which I am personally enjoying very much in spite of the whiners) is that you can actually ascertain some cat personalities from them. This one looks like a real sweetie. Makes me miss mine.

Flamingo on Nest

Very interesting photo. Any reason it's not in color - given the natural coloring of the bird against the mud? I'm thinking the mud color was probably not rich enough. Just curious. Anyway, I like the picture very much and had no prior idea about where flamingos nested.

Nice capture of this obviously photogenic subject. Your title provides the relevancy to the challenge and the clarity and texture of the portrait warrents a high score. It's a photo that I enjoy looking at even though I don't know the subject.
