wind and murky water

I can't sense the wind or the murky water. Sorry. Instead, this has a haunting quality so far beyond those prosaic elements that I'm totally flummoxed by the title. What am I missing? I don't think of egrets as night creatures; so that's what makes this unnatural and a bit spooky. It's my favorite in spite of my confusion.
