My Boysby mr_simmiComment: Nice shot, kids and animals work well for this challenge, always puts me in mind of the 'family pet' which every kid loves. Beautiful dog, is he a Bordeaux? The DOF is good, although having the dog in clear focus as well would have been nice since the shot title is about both of them, the focus as it is makes the shot more about the boy. I like it overall, good exposure and a lovely subject. |

"Say Cheese!"by dtallaksonComment: A good family moment captured, certainly meets the challenge. If this was a candid shot it's very good, the focus is great. I like the different colours. A few patches of overexposure in the sun but nothing that grabs the eye, so that's Ok. A shallower DOF may have been good for blurring the busy background a bit but again, it's not too eye-grabbing so it's Ok. I think this one will probably do quite well. |

Footprint of the Motherby galatia_nComment: I would have liked to see it cropped in a little mor so we could see the child's face better, seeing an expression here would have been nice. Good photo overall though, perfect exposure, nice and sharp. |

Alyssa Liesby MinsoPhotoComment: I absolutely adore that song and this is a very emotive shot to go with the title. As sad as it is, it's interesting to see a sad take on the family idea; It would be so sad if this is your typical view of family, I hope your family memories are not like this. Overall, the shot is sharp, well composed and emotional. Well done. |

Grandmother talking with her grandchildrenby KfirLevAriComment: I'm not keen on square crops (just personally) and the image is a bit grainy, denoising would have improved this for me, plus darkening the contrast a teeny bit to embolden the dark areas. I like the idea though, it wouldn't work as well without those pics of kids on the wall but because of them, the connection is obvious and the image conveys exactly what the title says. |

epilogueby jmritzComment: I understand the title (quite clever) but some might not and the image doesn't really visually convey family. The highlights are majorly blown as well. I actually don't hate it as it does have a certain emotive 'something' to it, this will probably do quite well with the posthumous arty crowd but I can't see it ranking very high generally. |

An Occasional Silly Kissby dahlinComment: Amusing, moments like these are nice. I like the coloured lights bokehd in the background. There is some noise in the shot but only really noticeable on their faces, a little denoising would help. The contrast is also a bit too dark as there are no details left on his jacket or her hair; a bit of brightening (highlights and midtones) might have improved this. Quite nice overall though, it made me smile. |
