To me, this shot is made by the other kid in the background. I'd love to see them included a little bit more, and not cut off. The contrasting expressions and postures are priceless.

It's a slightly cliche scene for a reason, and that's that it is just cool. I agree with Matt about the contrast and saturation, definitely looks a little flat. Bringing your shadows darker via curves would help a good deal I think, and maybe cropping a little less tightly. Great moment though, no doubt on that.

Love the pose of the kids, but I wish you would've squatted down a bit and zoomed in a bit more (may not have been an option considering your lens). Kid's shots are always enhanced so much by getting down on their level, I feel I have to suggest it. The moment is golden though, which is the hardest thing to get used to capturing.

No questions on the DoF on this one. Great job of focusing the viewer in on the important part of the photo, the creation. It's as if we're viewing things from his mind's eye. Fun shot.
ETA: It's got somewhat of a nostalgic feel to it, things don't seem quite as saturated and a bit overexposed, but I think it benefits the shot, myself.

My inner nerd requests a deeper DoF, both from a photographic standpoint, and so that I can check out his lego creation :)
But, I gotta admit, I love the DoF and how it works with his face. It's a hard choice to make.

I dig the tilted shot comp. It's quirky, but fits things perfectly. The leaping in the scuba mask is great, and I really like the stored tension in his legs. Great energy here, check out that crunched up foot.

The way you've captured this really makes it feel like the foreground block of concrete is falling and crushing the lower portion. Cool effect.
