I really like this one a lot. I love how the real dice interact with the dice on the box.

Nice find. I really like the colors, DOF, and the unique viewpoint. I think the centered composition with the red light almost dead center may have knocked it down a little in the scoring. A squarish crop of the right hand side seems a strong composition. Also trying to put the red light on the thirds in csmera and keeping the retangular crop may have looked cool as well.

As an FYI, the voters can and do vote using any criteria they want. Search the furum of "DNMC" and you will find tons of differnet opinions on the subject. There have been and will be obvious DNMC photos that win ribbons. Likewise "just a tiny bit DNMC" photos will get hammered for DNMC and score low. Not much you can do but grin and bear it.

I do find it odd the that the SC would provide an opinion on DNMC at all. And I certainly would not take such an opinion to mean any thing at all given the diverse opinions on this site with respect to DNMC.

Nice photo by the way. You title may not have helped your cause as the horizon is not really visable. Perhaps "Coaster on a Tilt" or something similar would have made them lesss likely to look for a traditinal horizon. Another techique to try would be a slower shutter speed to make a deliberate blur, sometimes this can be a cool way of showing motion. Of course sometimes it also looks like crap. Have fun.

Very nicely done. The cloud-like light bloom is perhaps the reason that it scored below average. Other than that this is a stellar photograph.

Absolutely love it. I just got done working with my son on his car. My workshop bench is a complete mess compared to yours.

I did not vote, but probably would have given a 5. All the crazy lines and curves makes for a nice composition. The processing with all the muted tones is a distraction to me. I might have framed it differently as the building and tree on the edges of the frame are awkward.

Someone's been on a roll lately -- Keep up the good work. Might be time to retire that shoehorn, get serious, and start collecting ribbons. Nahhhhh! Stay here with us mere mortals, the beer is better.

Aside from not having a shoehorn in it and an border that is way too small, this photo is top notch.

I like the tunnel through the sand that leads to the shell. DOF may be a bit too narrow. Perhaps having all the shell in focus would be more powerful.

Not really working for me. Subject is odd, without really having a quirky appeal. Narrow DOF may be too narrow here. Seems like some cloning/editing lines are also visable.
