Radianceby jjsmomComment: Good dof choice, forces the eye towards the back/bottom and hints at the infinite. Was there anyway to capture more of the detail? As that is a secondary pattern, it would have been kind of cool. I know that sometimes, these detail pieces fade and the ridges and "patterns" start to lose their definition, so perhaps this is the actual look. |

The Patterns of Natureby LimescopeComment: Interesting. This has some fantastic elements, not the least being ing the coloring of that butterfly. I know dealing with nature is tough, especially when you bring wildlife into the equation so my suggestions might not have worked here, but who knows when you might get another chance...
The darkness behind the butterfly gives the illusion that the right wing is just there. It's hard to define the insect's black body against the shadows and darkness of the background. The colors of the flowers, while great, are not the best behind the red "hearts" in the wings.
Again, not things you can control, but things to think about for any future shots. |

Sea Sculpture (Coral)by marcusvdtComment: Well designed shot. Is this inside of an aquarium? There is a reflection in the lower right that I don't think you meant to be there. |

Whirlsby agrimaceComment: Interesting shot. You might consider a brown background so as to avoid any pesky comments about composition and framing or dead space. |

Oeufs à la coqueby LN13Comment: Thank you for the shot of the shell texture. It is a nice tight shot. |

Seeing Redby JakerComment: This is rather interesting. The lighting is so subdued, then you have this harsh bulb right at the bottom...which is the first thing I see. Perhaps use a red bulb next time, it would give the illusion of self illumination. |

lollipops poping outby webdreamerComment: This one could have been stunning with a bit of time and prep work. Imagine that every lollipop were turned so the name of the candy was lined up. Imagine, if the flavors/colors of the wrappers were organized into a pattern. Then you would have the following:
1) Horizontal pattern
2) Vertical pattern
3) Name linear sameness (just another pattern)
4) Color cohesion
Four patterns all in one shot! Of course, then people might say it was too boring and you should randomnize things. Can't win, can you?! |

ET Pattern Matching Company Inc.by justamistereComment: My quibble is with choice of focal point. It seems to be behind the eye, and slightly below the blue scales. I would suggest bringing more of the face into the focus, that's where most of the interesting patterns exist. |

It's A 'Monkey' Puzzle?by SteveJComment: These trees are so cool. I love them. This is a nice natural shot, which is probably going to get you in trouble. You have dared to let something stand on it's own even with it's natural imperfections. Even if this weren't basic, I would suggest leaving this as is, if anything a teeny bit of play with contrast, but don't let people talk you into removing the imperfections in the leaves. |
