Treecoptersby ImagineerComment: Augh - I'm having flashbacks to cleaning my deck, here.... Them otion blur is a nice effect, but I think I'd like it better if the shutter had been a little quicker - the blur here is enough that (at least for me) it makes looking at them hard on the eyes. I like the decision to shoot them against just the cloudy sky - the color contrast is particularly striking. |

Pigeonsby rickhd13Comment: An impressive number of birds, but very out-of-focus and grainy...I don't know if you were trying for that effect, but I find it very distracting, making this really more a picture of bird shapes than birds. |

"On to the next flower"by ladpupmoeComment: Nice colors/composition - focus is on the foreground flowers, though, and the bee is out of focus - whereas I'd assume it was the intended subject of a flight photo. |

I got it!by silverleafComment: Nice, crisp shot - the frisbee being a bit high and blurred, it seems almost less the subject than the trees or pole that are so crisp and take up so much of the frame. I wonder if timing the shot differently, when it was lower, or changing the angle to look more up at it, might have made the frisbee more prominent in the picture. |

Snailby christyrackComment: This is a really neat subject, but I think the lighting betrayed you here - the light-glare on the snail's body is so bright that the one antenna appears to merge into its body and it's hard to make out any features, at the front. Nice, tight closeup, though; do you have one of those cameras that has to find a white somewhere in the picture, perhaps? |

Flowerby KoriyamaComment: Ghostly and beautiful - love the effect, and the softness. |

Scary 101by xhossComment: This is a really disturbing photo. It works - indeed, that it is so disturbing says much about how good an image it is. It's just a bit soft, which I think makes it stronger in this case, as an incongruity with the harsh subject matter. |

An Aggie Moon over Old Mainby dsidwellComment: This is very clear and crisp for a night shot - I'm impressed, especially that the trees are so visible in silhouette against such a dark sky. The building seems to lean a bit, though, compared to the left-hand side of the photo. |

Where have all the children gone?by tomlewis1980Comment: I really like the desaturation on this one, the way it makes the playground equipment stand out so boldly. The sky is a fair bit glaring, though - if I scroll so that it's cut off at the top of the left-hand tree, I like the feel of the image much more, and don't find my eyes drawn to the sky nearly as much, if at all. |

"Required Reading"by tfarrell23Comment: Black-and-white is really effective on this one, making for a crisp/stark look that really makes it stand out. Everything's ready for the homework to start here...except maybe the student, of course. :) |
