Fresh off the vineby cabaComment: cool lighting. the tomato almost looks translucent. wish the hot spot wasn't on the fruit though. |

Black Crowned Night Herons with breeding plumageby rmahanComment: great poses. the reflections make this shot as well as having the foreground bird with his back towards us, giving a great view of the long white head feathers. His pose amuses me too - it looks like he's just a guy standing there with his hands in his pockets, watching the world go by. well done. |

Those lazy days of summer......by nordicComment: outstanding tones and composition. this is a great example to show all the people who hate flower images that, when done well. they can be striking! |

a reach to heavensby theodor38Comment: great point of view. the choice if birches is a good one too since the peeling and spotted bark has such interesting features. |

eagle owlby AngelisComment: nice animal portrait. I like how the owl is peering over its shoulder like a model might strike a pose. the shot is lacking in contrast, though. It would have more punch if you darkened the dark values and brightened the highlights. |

Power Inversionby BradComment: my gut reaction was that I didn't like this, but for some reason I kept looking and it gets interesting. The sky gradient is very pleasing as it the different gray tones in the hills. nice job with a creative effort. |

Missing shoeby MrAkamaiComment: great character study. I like the story presented with the missing shoe. I wish the highlights in his jeans weren't o blown out, but it is a great image in any event. |

Who, Me?by browntComment: great expression. I would have cloned out the stick thing that appears to be coming out of his back, however. |
