D u o by JeffDayComment: Stunning lighting. Perhaps the composition is why this didn't place higher? |

Good doggies! by xtianComment: What a great shot! It's a little overexposed which is a shame, but I love the b&w treatment, the composition and the background. |

Mikaylaby w0fcmComment: Background editing has left a lot of ugly looking patches which can be seen depending on the monitor. Would look a lot better with an effective even background anyway, rather than one which is 100% white. The clothes work well here, it's a shame the subject looks so unhappy. Hands are a really important part of any portrait if they're in the shot, it's a shame they're half hidden here. Not sure about the composition, any special reason here not to use rule of thirds? Otherwise the negative space feels unbalanced. |

My-toes-is, Mitosisby odessit40Comment: Great idea, would have worked much better for me if the feet were more covered with sand leaving the toes looking a bit more abstract. If well excecuted, could be a really striking graphic design image. |

Sedonaby oOWonderBreadOoComment: Wow, beautiful shot! The sky really makes this great, the ultra wide angle worked really well here. Lovely colours. What a location! |

Flowers of springby DemonLlamaComment: A nice shot for someone starting out. To make this really stand out, the shot needs to be very sharp somewhere in the shot. The bottom of the shot looks like it should be cropped out, perhaps a tighter crop in general on the flower would work better while keeping the negative space on the right. The greens work well, effective dof. In general though, a flower shot has to be amazing to really stand out in a DPC challenge, there are a lot of flower shots on this site! |

Untitledby GnarfComment: Interesting shot... I'm not completely convinced by the composition, especially the section of wall down the left hand edge of the shot. The textures are great, and the man adds interest and mood. I think what I like least about it is the patch of wall which is much lighter to the right of the man. The eye is usually drawn to the lightest part of a photo, which makes it hard to know where to settle on this photo. |

How Beautiful Thou Areby rosiehallComment: Nice macro lens, and you have good dof field here. Other than that, it's just a shot of a butterfly, not particularly imaginatively composed/cropped. The background doesn't work well... perhaps if you'd got into a better angle, you could have avoided the diagonal line which cuts through the wings. What is the point of focus here? It looks like you haven't really thought about it... just fitting the whole butterfly into the frame is not the way forwards. |

The Warriorby noranekoComment: It's a boat... and a sunset. Not sure really what else to say! Perhaps you could have played with the baot's name in some way? Here it just looks like it's the name of the boat and the name of the photo. What are you trying to communicate with this photo? Not sure about the placement of the sun... any reason why you placed it where it is in the shot? The sky is a bit featureless for the amount of prominence it has here. |
